So Proud of our little girl!

These past few days have been tough for us, but mostly for Emma. She developed a cough last week and on Saturday woke up really weezy. We didn't worry too much and just played it off as a regular cold. By that night we felt we should call her Dr. just to make sure. The on call nurse said that we needed to take her to the E.R. just to be sure. Well, we thought taking her to an after hours Dr. would be better so we made the decision to take her there. They gave us a mild prescription for her weezing and one for ear an infection. She stayed the same through Sunday and then that night didn't sleep very well and about 2:30 am was having to work really hard to breath. We jumped in the car and ran her to the E.R. After a LOT of poking and testing she was admitted to the hospital with Bronialitis and Pneumonia. Our poor baby was hooked up to oxygen and an IV. The Dr. said it was going to take a while to recover and that we should plan on being in the hospital for a few days at least. It has been an emotional and exhausting couple of days but last night Emma was released from the hospital and is doing GREAT! She seems back to her normal self minus some coughing which is expected. She is a very tough little girl and we are so proud of her. We feel so blessed to be close to my parents who were able to watch Emma so that Mark and I could get some sleep. We appreciate all the thoughts and prayers from friends and family. We believe it is because of them that Emma is at home with us now.
We will keep you all updated!

I can't even imagine how scary it would be to see your child so sick and hooked up to an IV in the hospital. I hope that she is back to her old self soon. Clayton and I are thinking of you guys

I just checked this blog to find out about your scary story! Charlie had Broncialitis in December. It took lots of breathing treatments and the whole month to fully recover! Hang it there...she'll be back to her old self soon! I'm glad to hear she's doing better!

oh Emma! & poor you guys! I'm so sorry you had to go through that stuff already. I'm so glad she's better now though. And just FYI, I'm sure your parents were great & all, but we would have done the same thing had you been here!

Oh my, Traci! I have been wondering about the details of Emma's illness ever since you commented on my health care blog...but neglected to check your family blog. I feel like such a bad friend for not knowing what was going on. I'm so sorry! I hope Emma just continues to get better and stronger. Those bronchial infections can really take a toll...and are so painful and exhausting.
Love and prayers.
