3 Years!
We spent last Saturday celebrating our 3rd wedding anniversary. It was Traci’s year to plan something so she decided to surprise me with a full day’s worth of activities with the help of Nana and Papa’s babysitting skills. We began the day with a round of golf, which unfortunately was cut short by quite a few slow players up ahead. We were only able to finish five holes as the rest of the day was on a strict schedule. Next we picked up some sandwiches and Traci took me to a little picnic spot on the banks of the Rogue River.
After lunch we headed north. I had no idea where we were going until we pulled into the parking lot of Hell Gate Jet Boat Excursions in Grants Pass!
Traci had reserved us a spot on a two-hour jet boat excursion up the Rogue River to this really cool canyon called Hell Gate.
The boat reached speeds of over 45 mph and was extremely successful in getting us thoroughly soaked from time to time – one of the most fun activities that I have done in quite a while!
Traci really does know how to plan a fun filled day; but it wasn’t over after that. Next we headed back into Medford to watch a movie. Now this is something that we haven’t done in a long time, I think as far back as a few months before Emma was born, so it was quite the occasion! We ended up watching Bourne Ultimatum, and for any of you guys who have yet to see that movie – see it! After the movie, we finished the day off with dinner at Red Robin, (man I love those Bonsai Burgers!).
Well, another year down, where does the time go? It’s funny how Traci and I have only known each other for just over four years now, but it feels like we’ve been together our whole lives. It’s good to think that we have many more anniversaries ahead of us and many more memories like the above to make. It’s a rare thing to marry your best friend these days - I feel very fortunate to be included in that ever-dwindling group.
