Spires Family: Kevin Bacon and Kim...

So, we've been promising an update from our Christmas break trip to Cali for Kim's wedding, so you shall get one. But before we get to that, let me give you a quick update on what we've been up to lately...

With it being Martin Luther King day and all, we decided that we would get out of town and do something a little different for a change. So we packed our diaper bag and headed up to Park City to see what all the Sundance hooplah is about. We parked and took a bus up to Main Street which was the center of all the activity (the bus ride up and back was the highlight of the excursion for Emma). What a beautiful town Park City is! We walked down and up Main Street, peaking in all the bars and restaurants.

At the bottom of main street was a tent/massive trailer, out of which we heard some familiar tunes. It was Damien Rice finishing up a performance. So we hung outside the tent peering in through the crowd and got to watch a few songs. After the show, we decided to have a sit outside of the tent and do some people watching, when to our surprise Kevin Bacon came walking by. He seemed to be in quite a rush all by himself, not surprisingly as a group of fans were close on his tale. Not one minute later Traci spotted Christopher McDonald, aka Shooter McGavin (you Happy Gilmore fans will know who I'm talking about).

It was quite a night and we didn't even spend a penny - I think we'll do it again before the festival ends.

So, Cali... where do I begin? We were down there for two weeks and so were able to accomplish quite a bit. We cleaned Kim's apartment, played golf, shopped, hung out with family, ate out (something we don't get to do that often any more - sad), watched a few movies (way too many Disney's), celebrated Traci's B-Day, Christmas twice, and New Year's Eve four hours early (we moved the clock forward for the kids - and for ourselves :), and most importantly shared in Kim and Dave's wedding day. Maybe we should just let the pics do the talking...
