It's been a while ... again
So much has happened since our last excuse for a post, the most memorable being our
We spent the morning hanging out in Ashland enjoying the parade. It was Emma and my first 4th of July parade experience and what an experience it was! We saw everyone from Jesus, to scantly clad fairies, to the LDS missionaries singing "Called to Serve" - oh how I love Ashland! The rest of the day was spent with family and friends. We had lunch at the Eagar's and then drove up to Grants Pass to enjoy a BBQ diner and games with family friends.
Golfing:
Saturday morning was spent golfing. It was actually kind of a cool morning because every year here in the valley they put on an air-balloon show/event that begins really early in the morning. The balloons start landing around 8 or 9 am anywhere they can find an open field, or in our case an open fairway. As we made the turn we watched a huge air balloon come in for a landing on the fifth fairway - it made our morning, and our back nine :)Emma:
She is growing up so fast! The fourth of July saw her get her first two teeth. They seemed to come out of nowhere! So now every time she smiles or laughs (which is quite a bit) we can see her two little pearly whites sticking out.
More 4th of July activities:
This past Sunday we visited our good friends the Hales for a belated 4th of July BBQ. It was a pleasant afternoon so we had dinner out on their deck complete with steak, potato salad and home-made strawberry ice-cream!
Employment changes:
So I've finally quit my job at the golf club. We decided that the extra income and free golf was not worth the extra time away from home. I don't know why it took us so long to come to this apparently obvious conclusion, I guess we're just a little slow? Also, I've now officially been hired on with the company that I've been temping with for the past few months. Although they've only committed to take me on for an indefinite amount of time, it's still one step closer to getting a good job in a place where those don't come around too often.
Well, on that note I think we'll say good-bye for now.
Till next time ...

Great blogg! It's always a pleasure to catch up on the 'Spires Clan in Oregon's' news :)
Congrats on the job Mark :)I'm glad that you'll be able to spend more time together.
Emma gets cuter by the day - I can't wait to see her. It's great to hear that she's a water baby!
We'll touch sides soon -
Our love to you all - Mom and Dad
I love emma's big girl bath. I want one!! She is too cute.
SO I found your blog through Jessie. I helped her create her own- although, I don't thinks he's too thrilled about it, yet. We searched through her email to find your site because she remembered you had one. It's so fun to see pictures of you and your cute Emma. I want to give her big hugs and kisses- too sweet. Yes, my hair is BLOND! It's funny because I forgot that the times we were together in HI I was dark- pretty much the only time in my life I have had brown hair. Keep posting and I'll keep reading :)
OH yes, I am actually the one who spelled your name with an "i". Sorry!
