Welcome Emma Lynn!

It truly has been an amazing whirlwind of a week. Of course you all know that Emma joined us on Wednesday the 13th at 9:59pm. Now we know that we are both terribly biased but what a precious little girl! She really does have the most beautifully serene spirit. Her story began on Tuesday night at 11pm when we took Traci in for her scheduled induction. They began the process at midnight and Traci slowly progressed as the contractions strengthened. After a long morning our doctor decided to break her water at midday which caused the labor to intensify. Traci experienced really strong contractions till around 3 o’clock when she finally decided to call in the cavalry! She had an epidural just after 3 and was able to settle down enough to get some rest. Her contractions remained strong and at appropriate intervals, but unfortunately she had only dilated to a 3 by late evening and it didn’t look like she would progress any further in that department. It looked like Emma was presenting at an angle and as a result was unable to drop any further, naturally triggering the much needed dilation. Our doctor finally decided on a C-section at around 9pm, and at precisely 9:59 our little Emma Lynn came into this world – what a miraculous experience, one that we will always remember and cherish. She was born at 8.9 pounds and a little over 19 inches (don’t know what that is in metric?), healthy and really strong, and has been a joy ever since! She is currently sleeping thru most of the night (has been from almost the first night home actually), apart from feeding times of course and keeps us enthralled with her dynamic personality and funny faces.
Thank you all for your prayers and support over this past week. We really feel blessed to have Emma with us now and look forward to sharing her with all of you - we know that you will instantly fall in love!

I can't wait to see her tomorow. I hope she knows Juncle Ustin is going to be her favorite uncle.
